Kannada television actress Rekha Sindhu was killed in a auto accident early on Friday morning near Natrampalli in Vellore district in Tamil Nadu.

Rekha was reportedly travelling from Chennai to Bengaluru on along with three other passengers.

Another Kannada and Tamil actor Rekha Krishnappa was mistaken for Rekha Sindhu.

Meanwhile, Vikram who sustained minor injuries, was discharged from the hospital but later he was again admitted, after he complained of discomfort. There were three more people in the auto and all died on the spot.

The 22-year-old actress was returning to Bengaluru after wrapping up a shoot in Chennai.

According to media reports, all of them were taken to the Tirupattur Government Hospital and police is investigating the accident. This prompted Krishnappa to release a video on Facebook assuring her fans that she is alive and well. Rekha Sindhu's death is nearly similar to Malayalam actress and youngest recipient of National Award for Best Actress, Monisha Unni's death in a vehicle accident on December 5, 1992. She also came on live on facebook and also posted a message, I am all fine guys.at present in Sringeri (sic).

"She was travelling to Chennai for an ad shoot".
