Chris Pine Sings & Delights On SNL

Said song, of course, as he admits halfway through, is Billy Joel's "Uptown Girl" with new lyrics, and one of many sketches last night that involved singing.

Next week SNL continues with their coast-to-coast live broadcasts with host Melissa McCarthy and musical guest HAIM.

Unfortunately Alec Baldwin as Trump didn't make an appearance last night. The short piece is a riff on 1990's kid show Where in the World Is Carmen Sandiego? and it runs short because neither of the show's young contestants has any desire to find Kellyanne Conway.

The Handmaid's Tale - The sketch mocks the apolitical by using Hulu's new show "The Handmaid's Tale".

Another top moment of the night was when Pine parodied Star Trek and played William Shatner in a sketch that was a supposedly lost episode of the original Star Trek series. Not Pratt or Hemsworth, I'm a different guy!' Mr Pine crooned. Damn. The short wins points for visual accuracy alone. And then there's Chris Hemsworth.

Sure thing, Thor/Captain/Starlord/Kirk, whichever one you are. "They're treating healthcare the way I treat an iTunes agreement", he quipped. Again, only a few minutes elapse before the men are lip syncing and dancing, and again, the comedy of the piece is centered simply on the men having fun and being joyful. "Instead, we're like, 'Yeah, you got any more of those Hemsworths, though?'" he joked. "We finally have a president who speaks fluent maniac".

Nobody seems to know who the hell Chris Pine is. "That was hard for us because we had a lot of fresh, new, exciting ideas that we were trying to get out and nothing new really worked".

Leslie Jones knows how to work her angles. "Look at me: Never." .
