MSU defensive lineman Auston Robertson charged

Michigan State player charged with criminal sexual conduct

Today, it was revealed that the player under investigation was defensive lineman Auston Robertson, who was subsequently charged with third-degree sexual misconduct Friday morning.

Robertson was previously suspended from the program when Dantonio learned that he was the subject of a sexual assault investigation stemming from an alleged April 9 incident in Meridian Township.

The incident reportedly occurred on April 9th, 2017 and is separate from the sexual assault incident that occurred in late January that involved three MSU football players that remain unidentified as well as staff member Curtis Blackwell's suspension and arrest that occurred in late February.

Three other MSU players are under investigation for the alleged rape of a coed on campus. Robertson is a 19-year-old from Ft. After entering into a diversionary program, the charges were cleared last month. "While there is an ongoing criminal process, we're extremely disappointed that Auston put himself in this position". A spokesman from that office said there was no deadline for the prosecutor to make a decision. According to further court records, Allen completed the program and the battery charge was dismissed in a court hearing March 22 by Judge Wendy Davis. The student who said she was sexually assaulted reported what happened, and the university has two investigations ongoing. Dantonio announced Robertson's signing March 30, 2016.

"Due to the charges he was facing during his recruitment, we took precaution in allowing Auston to be a part of our football program, including a thorough vetting, which we acknowledged publicly at his signing". "We will continue to educate and enforce high standards for the program. We expect all of our players to conduct themselves in a manner that reflects the values and principles of this university".
