Starbucks trots out 'Unicorn' drink

"The more you swirl, the more pink and tangy the beverage turns".

Starbucks' Unicorn Frappuccino is an instant Instagram sensation. I do see pink and I do see purple, but they're close in shade and there's no "wow" moment where it looks like someone repainted the drink's colors.

The special limited edition unicorn frap is only available in the U.S., Mexico and Canada through the end of this week, so eat our magic dust, other continents!

The crème Frappuccino is made with a mysterious blend of sweet dusting pink powder, mango syrup and sour blue drizzle and topped off with vanilla whipped cream, and more pink and blue powder.

Oh, and did we mention, it comes with a green straw.

Think the rainbow and unicorn food trend is going away anytime soon?

With newspapers reporting that people are "freaking out" over the rainbow-colored drinks, I expected there to be a line out the door, and maybe a special section inside, reserved for Instagramming.

It will be available for a limited time, today through Sunday, while supplies last.

'Omg, THE UNICORN FRAPPUCCINO from Starbucks, ' added one more.

So what's in this magical looking drink? It's mango, colored with some sort of powder. The Unicorn Frappuccino looks better than the photo circulated by Starbucks. Both tart and fruity, the drink reminds me of a mix of popsicles and sour skittles. Once that pink powder fuses with the Frappucino part of the Unicorn Frappucino, it just works in ways you wouldn't dream of. I haven't even had my morning cup of coffee, but I'm standing in a Starbucks ordering two venti-sized unicorns.

Starting Wednesday, April 19, Starbucks will be serving a Unicorn Frappuccino that changes color and flavors as you sip. One described it as a "7-Eleven Slurpee Frappucino" and another said that the counterbalance of sweet and sour made it taste "almost like fresh fruit".
