Mother accused of recording herself gagging baby released on bond

Peterkin appeared in court Monday and was released after posting a $15,000 bond.

The videos allegedly show Peterkin torturing her son while hes strapped into a vehicle seat. She is scheduled to appear Monday in the 351st State District Court.

"You'll have to find someone else (to pick you up), because if you get within 200 feet of the child while this order is pending, she's going to have to bring that child to 701 San Jacinto to visit you because you're going to be in jail", the judge reportedly said.

Broadnax said her brother, who has three children, had no idea his son was being abused.

She admitted that she had made the videos earlier in the year to show Jaiden's father, who, she claimed did not care enough about the baby.

Ra'Neicha Broadnax, 20, the boy's aunt, told the Daily News she received photos and videos of her nephew being slapped, his fingers being burned with a lighter and cigarettes and him with a plastic bag over his head. "They also saw video of the complainant in a vehicle seat and an adult hand was seen stuffing a plastic bag into the mouth of the complainant, who appeared to have difficulty breathing", a prosecutor said Monday. She was quickly contacted by someone from the Humble County Sheriff's Office.

"When originally called us, she did not have an address", Capt. Melinda Bradshaw said. "We came up with an address based on the last name".

A text message she sent accompanying the plastic bag photo read: 'Sad that he pressed to cheat after he just begged me to be his girlfriend.

But after watching the videos Broadnax forwarded them, the case was handed over to Harris County Precinct 4 deputy constables, who conducted an interview.

Broadnax said the videos quickly drew attention online.

Other videos showed Peterkin spitting on the baby and bending his hands back, according to the Chronicle.
