Humble mom accused of torturing baby to get back at ex

Texas Mother Arrested After Videos Allegedly Showing Her Abusing, Burning 1-Year-Old Son Posted on Facebook

A judge reportedly released her on a $15,000 bond after ordering her not to come within 200 feet of her son.

The videos allegedly show Peterkin torturing her son while hes strapped into a auto seat.

A Humble woman accused of brutally abusing a child appeared in court Monday morning.

The protective order filed in the case forbids Peterkin from seeing the child or going near the residence where he is now staying.

"She sent the pictures to her ex-boyfriend to disturb him", prosecutors said, according to the Chronicle.

"You should call the Richmond Police Department being that you're in Virginia and we're in Texas", Broadnax said police in Humble told her.

Prosecutors said officers "saw video of the complainant in a vehicle seat and an adult hand was seen stuffing a plastic bag into the mouth of the complainant, who appeared to have difficulty breathing". Her mother, who had planned to pick her up, had the child with her, she told the judge.

"In some, she was talking to him, saying, 'Blame your dad and his new girlfriend, '" Broadnax said. Broadnax, 20, said several of the videos show the baby being burned with a lighter.

Broadnax posted videos of the baby screaming while someone, Broadnax claims to be the baby's own mother, taunted the child. She was quickly contacted by someone from the Humble County Sheriff's Office. There is now a restraining order against Peterkin, who must remain 200 yards away from the boy.

"When originally called us, she did not have an address", Capt. Melinda Bradshaw said. Their inaction prompted her to post the videos online, after which she said she was inundated with calls from law enforcement agencies around the nation.

"When I saw the video, I had to ask the police if he was still alive", Broadnax told Valley Central. "We can't investigate something in somebody else's jurisdiction".

Officers said they saw video of the toddler experiencing difficulty breathing as 'an adult hand was seen stuffing a plastic bag" into his mouth and a photo of the boy "with a plastic bag over his head' tied in a knot, Click2Houston reported.
