Dana White Reveals Potential Date For Jon Jones-Daniel Cormier Rematch

Jon Jones will be eligible to return to action as early as July but even if he's facing light heavyweight champion Daniel Cormier, he won't be doing it in a main event.

Cormier and United Kingdom knockout artist Jimi Manuwa have been going back-and-forth over Twitter since Daniel mocked Manuwa's resume during his post-fight speech at UFC 210.

As such, the UFC are keeping an open mind about what's going to happen, with No.3 contender Jimi Manuwa being a fallback option for either UFC 213 or 214 if Jones isn't ready to fight Cormier in July.

White has publicly teased in recent weeks at the notion that Jones would prefer an interim fight before facing Cormier (19-1), to which White declared the UFC doesn't promote such fights.

If Jones is in favor of taking a fight before he comes back to challenge for the title, Gustafsson would be more than happy to welcome him back to the fold.

White told ESPN.com that he's prepared to finally book the much anticipated rematch between Jones and the current light heavyweight champion Daniel Cormier at UFC 214 in Anaheim, California on July 29th. The former 205-pound king dominated Cormier in a unanimous decision victory when they first met in UFC 182 two years ago.

The NSAC would also reveal the two substances for which Jones tested positive were Hydroxy-clomiphene, "an anti-estrogenic agent", and Letrozole metabolite, "an aromatase inhibitor" before unanimously approving the suspension.

Jones is expected to be cleared following a suspension issued last July for a failed drug test.

Prior to jetting off for Buffalo, 'The Poster Boy" confirmed to JOE that he was only interested in the victor of Cormier vs. "Rumble', Jon Jones or a boxing match with David Haye.

Cormier most recently defended his light heavyweight belt at UFC 210 against Anthony Johnson.

Last April, Cormier pulled out with a knee injury ahead of UFC 197. "We'll see how this plays out".
