Xavier star forward Trevon Bluiett has been arrested on a misdemeanor charge of possession of marijuana, hash or hash oil, in Carmel, Indiana, north of Indianapolis.

On Monday, police pulled over Bluiett on USA 31 and Carmel Drive after traveling 75 miles per hour in a 55 miles per hour zone and failing to signal a lane change.

Police said Bluiett, 22, was stopped around 3:30 p.m. on USA 31 in Carmel, Indiana after he was seen traveling almost 20 miles per hour over the speed limit.

During the stop, officers smelled a "strong odor" of marijuana coming from inside the vehicle.

His bond was set at $1,000.

Bluiett confirmed March 31 that he will test the National Basketball Association draft waters without hiring an agent for the second year in a row.

Xavier has not responded to a request for comment.

Bluiett, a standout at Park Tudor High School in Indianapolis, helped the Panthers win three state titles.

NBA Draft prospect Trevon Bluiett is in trouble with the law. NBADraft.net's latest mock draft has Bluiett going late in the second round (No. 56 to Brooklyn).

Xavier released a brief statement: "We are aware of the story and are looking into it".

Bluiett was Xavier's leading scorer last season, averaging 18.5 point a game.
