Samsung Galaxy S8's AI assistant - Bixby - on hold for Australian market

"The Galaxy S8 is the most important phone for Samsung in a decade and every aspect will be under the microscope following the Note 7 recall", said Ben Wood, a smartphone industry analyst with UK-based CCS Insight. The new camera feature will come on the newly upcoming flagship Galaxy S8 smartphone.

Microsoft announced on Thursday that it has started to take pre-orders for Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8 Plus Microsoft Edition. The device will be available in United States stores ahead of its April 21 launch.

The two handsets, fitted with screens of 5.8 and 6.2 inches, include Samsung's upgraded digital assistant Bixby, competing in a field that includes Apple's Siri and Google's Assistant.

According to a ZDNet report, the Microsoft Edition will need to be unboxed and connected to the in-store Wi-Fi.

If you plan on buying the Galaxy S8, I recommend turning this option off entirely, at least if you want to keep prying eyes from opening your smartphone. But unfortunately, numerous more savvy users out there who plan to buy a Galaxy S8 are about to learn something they may find troubling, or even infuriating in some cases.

Samsung kept the "edgeless" concept you know and love from the Galaxy S8's recent predecessors, but improvements have been made to make way for the attractive Infinity Display. They also have all the regular Samsung phone features, such as a waterproof design. The iris recognition feature is simply the scanning of the iris to unlock the phone, verify Samsung account, and much more. Also in terms of battery capacity the smartphones differ from each other, the Galaxy S8 has 3.000mAh and the S8+ gets a 3.500mAh battery. It will also run Android Nougat 7.0 out of the box. Samsung hopes to turn its fortunes around with its latest releases.
