Patriots Haven't Discussed Acquiring Marshawn Lynch

I know, I can't believe it took so long for the team from Boston to be a rumored destination for whatever big name free agent is now being discussed.

Lynch has also shown interest in joining the Oakland Raiders, though nothing has yet to materialize for a homecoming in the Bay Area just yet. Former Viking Adrian Peterson visited New England last week, but left Foxborough without a deal. Marshawn unretiring to play for his home team before they leave for (likely) good is a more emotional story and one that seems more aligned with Marshawn's persona. It's hard to imagine Lynch signing with the team that beat the Seahawks in the Super Bowl two years ago, especially when that team would expect him to tone down his personality.

The Seahawks signed Lynch to a 2-year, $24 million extension prior to the 2015 season, in what should have kept him under contract through 2017. Obviously the Seattle Seahawks made out very well in the deal, as Lynch became a league powerhouse during his five-plus seasons in the Pacific Northwest. Do you think Marshawn should come back? Girardi states that the Marshawn Lynch-Patriots rumors certainly aren't as strong as the Lynch-Raiders rumors. That might be too pricey for the franchise in terms of return on investment. Foster under contract. They still could bring back unrestricted free agent LeGarrette Blount, as well. No player in football crossed the goal line more than Lynch in 2014 on plays from scrimmage. They all now have Super Bowl rings.
