"We've always had that comparison with ABBA so it's awesome to work with Benny and Bjorn", Lisa told The Sun of Steps" new music written by the duo.

Their new album Tears on the Dancefloor (see what they did there!) will include a track written by ABBA's Benny Andersson and Bjorn Ulvaeus - naturally!

"But this music comes along and all the fans are like, "We need a breath of fresh air".

Steps were last together as a group in 2011 when they toured the United Kingdom and released new album Light Up The World.

On working with Andersson and Ulvaeus, Scott-Lee told The Sun: "We've always had that comparison with ABBA so it's fantastic to work with Benny and Bjorn".

Their first single from Steps new album titled Scared of the Dark is set to be released this Friday (March 10), with the band's new album coming on April 21.

It's been 20 years - yes 20 years - since Steps burst on to the pop scene and now Claire, Faye, Lee, H and Lisa are returning with a brand new album and tour to mark their 20th anniversary.

"This is the album we think our fans have been waiting for", Steps said in a joint statement.

Back in the 1990s and 2000s the band had several huge hits including Deeper Shade Of Blue, Tragedy and One For Sorrow and they think now is definitely the time to bring their cheerful tunes back into our lives.

And as if the new stuff isn't exciting enough, they're going to be joined on the road by none other than the VegaBoys on their national tour.

The Party on the Dancefloor Tour with special guests The Vengaboys kicks off in the 3Arena, Dublin on November 13th, followed by a concert in the SSE Arena, Belfast on November 14th.

'People are ready for something a little bit more happy, upbeat and pop. "It's a tough place out there", Lisa commented to Popjustice.

"So to come back and do that is incredible".
