"Third, the rest genuinely hate him and can't stand what he did [kneeling for the national anthem]".

Colin Kaepernick's refusal to stand during the national anthem in 2016 has led some NFL general managers to refuse to consider him signing him as a free agent in 2017.

Both QBs are now free agents, after Kaepernick opted out of his deal with the San Francisco 49ers this off-season and Griffin was released by the Cleveland Browns.

Spike Lee took a strong stance Sunday in favor of Colin Kaepernick.

While it's true the 29-year-old signal-caller has said through his representatives this offseason he will no longer continue his kneeling practice during the anthem, the maneuver seems more like a desperation ploy because he now doesn't have a job. Who Is The J-E-T-S Quarterback? Both men should be lauded for their activism, even if you don't agree with the impetus for that activism, and both are bad quarterbacks who won playoff games in this decade. The only real meeting the team has had was with Josh McCown, who is also receiving interest from the Cowboys as an option to be the backup quarterback.

"I think the likelihood of that happening (Kaepernick coming back) has gone down significantly".

Morton was on Jim Harbough's staff in San Francisco when Kaepernick was considered a rising star. While he was never named to a Pro Bowl team, Kaepernick did start six playoff games for the 49ers.

Why can't Colin Kaepernick get a job?

The Jets are still looking for a quarterback, as Lee points out in his post.

Looking at what Brock Osweiler got past year, Kaepernick must have liked his chances.

In an interview with radio station KNBR, 49ers general manager John Lynch said he hasn't ruled out a potential reunion with Kaepernick.

If there's suddenly a bunch of empty roster spots and not enough quarterbacks to fill them and Kaepernick still isn't getting calls, then we can discuss him being blackballed.
