MAC has two clothing and accessories boutiques in San Francisco, according to their website, but the suit seeks to represent all women's clothing and accessory companies that operated in California between the day after the election through the date of the trial.

Now, Trump is facing a lawsuit that alleges her company, Ivanka Trump Marks LLC, is getting an "unfair" boost based off her political connections as first daughter.

The impact of Trump's election on Ivanka Trump's brand has been hard to unpack.

President Donald Trump's daughter Ivanka Trump will receive an office in the West Wing of the White House and a security clearance as she serves, informally, as an adviser to her father, ABC News has confirmed. While the lawsuit doesn't cite particular instances, a potential example would be the brand promoting a bracelet that Ivanka wore on "60 Minutes" in December.

A San Francisco retailer is suing Ivanka Trump's fashion brand for using Donald Trump's presidency to create an "unfair advantage". It's not clear whether the sales rises stem from deep discounts that many retailers tagged onto Trump merchandise.

Ivanka Trump, center, and her husband, White House senior adviser Jared Kushner, look on during President Trump's address.

The class-action suit claims that Ivanka Trump and others have been "exploiting the power and prestige of the White House for personal gain, including but not limited to, piggy-backing promotion of defendant Ivanka Trump products on appearances at executive branch and other governmental events".

In an email to NBC News, a rep for the Ivanka Trump brand declined to comment on the lawsuit.

MAC is asking that California stops selling Ivanka's brand while it enjoys an allegedly unfair advantage.
