Not so, anymore. Spotify says that over the weekend, Giggs-one of the grime rappers featured heavily on Drake's new album-saw a 146% increase in streams from United States listeners.

The subtitle of More Life is A Playlist by October Firm, a nod to the fact this isn't Drake's true follow-up to Views. Tracks frequently flow one into the next, and across 80 minutes, "More Life" smoothly ebbs and flows from thumping trap to a laid-back variation of Drake's signature dancehall style (best expressed on the sequential "Get It Together and "Madiba Riddim")".

Notably absent on the eclectic 22-track playlist album are the much ballyhooed and expected collaborations with Jennifer Lopez and The Weeknd.

Not only does the playlist, which features the likes of contributors such as Stevie Wonder, Lionel Richie and Kanye West, have two references to JLo, one of them hints he drunk texted her.

But "More Life" also documents Drake's love and patronage of lesser-known British artists. "Get It Together" (featuring Black Coffee and Jorja Smith) 6. He plays it off like he's not even trying- the term playlist implies something fleeting, as if Drake is just trying to get this hour-and-half of music off his mind. He hands over the whole woozy track to the singer's extremely capable falsetto, which lends 4422 an emotional heft rarely felt on the rest of More Life. "More Life is interesting because this is [Drake] right on the peak of his biggest project yet [with Views], doing his biggest tour and still having so many good ideas that he just wants to put out without making it a big ordeal", he explained.

"I feel nearly alienated, or [like the Grammys are] trying to purposely alienate me by making me win rap awards or pacify me by handing me something and putting me in that category because it's the only place where you can figure out where to put me". Meanwhile, Young Thug is near-unrecognizable here, with the rapper faring better on his second More Life feature, the swaggering reggae of Ice Melts. She also has a residency in Las Vegas to take care of, so Drake's new music will probably not be getting a warm reception on her end.

A lot has changed for Kanye and Drake since they teamed up in 2009 for the one-off single Forever.
