Dr. Orji was said to have jumped into the Third Mainland Bridge Lagoon along the Adekunle axis shortly after receiving a call.

He was reported to have stopped his driver on the bridge, opened the door of his Nissan SUV and jumped into the Lagoon, TheNewsGuru reported.

Twenty-four hours after a medical doctor, simply identified as Orji jumped into the Lagoon from Third Mainland Bridge, emergency responders have continued to comb the Lagoon in search of the doctor's body to no avail.

Preliminary investigation revealed that the man, Orji, who was being driven by his driver, suddenly ordered the driver to pull over.

A police source told Nigerian Tribune that "they were coming from a church on the island and when they got to Adeniji Adele, he told the driver to stop the vehicle".

It would be recalled that the operatives of the Rapid Response Squad (RRS) past year prevented a mother of four from committing suicide by jumping into the lagoon with a 12-month old baby.

According to witnesses, the woman who was dressed in a blouse and pants was walking along the bridge when she suddenly climbed the rail and jumped into the lagoon.

"The body is yet to be recovered as the Lagos State Emergency Management Agency and other stakeholders are still on ground", he said. She heard a voice calling out to her to come to the Third Mainland Bridge.
