Spring Starts with Record Temperatures

Look for a mix of sun and clouds with a high temp in the low to mid 40s. Highs will be near 60°. A few models bring in some energy keeping shower chances around. Highs will be around 40. Morning clouds will give way to mostly sunny skies. The low Friday night is around 50.

With no snow on Sunday, Madison's March and meteorological spring (March through May) total stayed at 8.3 inches, 3.4 inches above normal.

Temperatures will continue to climb on Tuesday - highs in the mid 70's.

The wind will die down some Wednesday night and Thursday, but do not expect a warm-up. The days are long, temperatures warm and the heat and humidity of summer are still a few months away.

Mild temperatures and a chance of rain are the big weather stories for the beginning of the week. Showers and thunderstorms are expected Wednesday because of the same system, it said. We will keep a close eye out for this weekend.

Scattered rain showers return for Friday and Saturday. The long-term forecast also calls for strong, gusty winds in the mountains and deserts.
