Sonic Mania delayed, but Sonic Forces announced

There's no denying the visuals are much more polished than any Sonic game we've seen before, and all the background action adds some depth to the linear level.

Sonic Mania is a brand new Sonic the hedgehog title that takes the classic Sonic experience and adds new elements and exciting surprises.

Before going further, the footage released today is below if you haven't seen it. First, the franchise's gorgeous 16-bit reboot Sonic Mania will sadly not be making its Spring 2017 deadline.

Sonic Forces seems to draw from Sonic Generations, which makes sense since Sonic Forces is being released for Sonic's 25th anniversary.

Sonic Forces is due out on Xbox One, PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch, and PC this Holiday season.

The graphics in Sonic Forces look pretty cool. What it did do, though, was appease disappointment slightly be teasing another snippet of new footage-this time revisiting Sonic and Knuckles' familiar Flying Battery Zone.

The most interesting piece of information to come out of the presentation is that the game is now officially called Sonic Forces. Instead, SEGA's Aaron Webber confirmed at SXSW that the game has been pushed back into in the summer.

As for the more classic-style Sonic Mania, Sega announced a slight delay for the 2D outing.

So there you have it, the solidified title for the upcoming sonic game will be Sonic Forces!
