Single seat tickets still available for Garth Brooks show in Champaign

Garth Brooks Austin Show

Amazon Music announced that admission by complimentary ticket to this event will be restricted to residents of Austin and surrounding areas.

Yup, the rumors were true.

The Live Music Capitol is in for a night to remember.

Country music star Garth Brooks snagged the spotlight Friday at the South by Southwest music festival in Austin with a press conference announcing a free concert in the capital city Saturday. (You can review accepted ZIP codes here.) Each order is limited to two tickets. Badge and wristband holders will also have access based on capacity.

The experience, Brooks said, left him "fired up for tomorrow night" when he plays an outdoor show Saturday night at Austin's Lady Bird Lake. 50,000 people attend the three nights of shows at Auditorium Shores.

Brooks, who has an advertising degree from Oklahoma State University and went back at got an MBA from the school in 2011, was introduced as "the #1 selling solo artist in USA history".

A far cry from the arenas and stadiums on Garth's current world tour, the singer-songwriter stood center stage behind a mic with just a guitar at Austin's Broken Spoke.

Brooks also mentioned that he'll be up to something on Friday night as well. Last year, he partnered with Amazon's streaming service to allow fans to stream his entire catalog. The two shows are set for February 27 and March 18.

But having no ticket isn't stopping them or many others from getting creative on how to see Garth.
