Sadio Mane reveals discussions with Jurgen Klopp two years before joining Liverpool

Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp insists he is not anxious about the form of Philippe Coutinho since his return from injury.

However, he missed seven weeks with an ankle injury sustained at the end of November, and since returning he has not rediscovered the same level.

He was substituted after an hour following an anonymous performance in last weekend's win over Burnley, but Klopp is prepared to be patient with his playmaker.

Our squad's lack of depth somewhat becomes more visible yet the lineup we expect Jurgen Klopp to field is more than capable of securing all three points against Manchester City on Sunday.

Nevertheless, Luciano Spalletti will hope to keep hold of his star defensive ace if possible, with Manolas undoubtedly establishing himself as one of the best in his position in Serie A with his strength, speed and reading of the game all making him a stand-out player. As soon as you do that against Liverpool you can be exposed, as Arsenal and Tottenham have found out in recent weeks.

'There are always steps in this direction.

"But the quality is really high and they are in a good moment in the league".

With Firmino returned to the line-up, it means that Liverpool will take on City with their preferred front four of Philippe Coutinho, Roberto Firmino, Sadio Mané, and Adam Lallana.

Daniel Sturridge has not recovered from a hip injury which has kept him out since early February.

Klopp does not believe fatigue is catching up with his players heading into the final 10 matches of the campaign.

"I think it's part of football that these things can happen".

"I thought we had a few other games in which we were much better than these ones".

"We all have to get used to it a little bit".

The 23-year-old, who has been battling an ongoing calf injury for approximately 12 months, later insisted publicly that "a few good meetings" had progressed well and asserted that "it isn't about money".
