Company Doubles Production Order to 16 Million

According to a source close to The Wall Street Journal Nintendo expects to sell upwards of 10 million Switches during the console's first year on the market. Does it compare to the Nintendo 64, the Nintendo console that captured the 90's? After the initial pre-order scarcity, players can only find one model with patience on waiting for new restocks.

Nintendo is planning to double production of its Switch console to fulfill the ever-increasing demands as per the report by WSJ. That's right, 16 million Switches should be shipping out to retailers over the next year. It seems that, as the Switch has caught on with consumers and sold out all over the place-likely thanks in no small part to Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild-the gaming giant is boosting Switch production to previously unanticipated levels.

When the topic of cloud saves was brought up, Fils-Aime said that it would be great to have such a feature on the Nintendo Switch, and that gamers should "stay tuned". Furthermore, it can also be recalled that retailers from different parts of the globe, especially in the United Kingdom, have expressed uncertainty as to when their stocks for the Switch replacement docks will be replenished. That certainly bodes well for the system's fortunes, especially considering the company's previous home console, Wii U, managed to sell a little over 13.5 million units throughout its entire life. "It suggests that Nintendo is seeing strong demand for Switch, not just from Wii U owners, and that it is confident in the software lineup for the rest of the year". When he had it back, he went to check the system and realized that none of his items were stored in the memory of the Switch.
