The LEGO Batman Movie (2017, PG)

Ben Affleck will still be under the cowl, but not behind the camera. A Lego Batman Movie Easter egg in Siri (you know, the voice assistant in iPhones and other Apple devices) doesn't quite replicate the Batcomputer's near limitless power, but is good for a few laughs.

According to Collider's John Campea, three separate studio sources have claimed that Affleck is no longer interested in playing Batman.

Ben Affleck is looking for a way out of being involved in the ongoing 'Batman' films, according to a well-connected U.S. journalist. "He doesn't want to be Batman anymore".

It also makes little jabs at the previous Batman films including reenacting scenes in lego form to make them seem more silly than serious, with the exception of those that were already silly to begin with. I am still in this, and we are making it, but we are now looking for a director.

"I remain extremely committed to this project, and look forward to bringing this to life for fans around the world", he said. "I have been told that Affleck is talking with Warner Bros in an attempt to get out of being Batman". His stepping down from the directorial role is a loss for one of the biggest comic book brands in film since Affleck has developed quite the pedigree as a director.

Although critically panned, Batman v Superman managed to chalk up US$855 million (RM3.8 billion) at the global box office, which, according to Forbes, makes it "neither an outright victor nor an unmitigated loser".
