New 'Thor: Ragnarok' Concept Art Strengthens Ties to 'Planet Hulk' Comic Book

Thor Ragnarok

Obviously concept art rarely gets a direct translation when brought to life on screen, but it would be pretty sick if what we got in Ragnarok had even 50% of the visual flair of what you see above.

The awesome artwork was included in Doctor Strange's Digital HD release available worldwide today (the movie will be released on Blu-ray and DVD on February 28) and offers a sneak peek at what we'll get to see when the God of Thunder's third solo outing opens on the big screen in November. Last month Waititi shared an image revealing Thor's affinity for gourds (and Waititi's affinity for puns) on Instagram.

The Australian actor returned to comic form in the Marvel's latest viral video which depicts the god of thunder as the annoying housemate of office worker Darryl.

Now, a new follow-up to the original Team Thor video gives us another glimpse of what Thor has been up to recently. In case you forgot, Asgardian prince and Avenger Thor Odinson moved to Australia to take some time off from fighting evil forces, which explains his whereabouts during the events of Captain America: Civil War.

"Waititi's social media feeds as well as these "Team Thor" shorts are a welcome bit of levity with things getting a little grim in the Avengers" corner of the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

Thor: Ragnarok will be released November 3.

The trailer for Thor: Ragnarok will likely drop when Guardians of the Galaxy Vol.2 lands in theaters so, for now, this concept art will need to be enough.
