LG G6's FullVision Display and UX 6.0 Previewed

LG V30 flagship will run 6GB RAM Snapdragon 835 chipset By Rei Padla

The company's camera app will get an upgrade thanks to the extra screen real estate provided by the 18:9 aspect ratio, which also allows LG to introduce a new "Square" mode which lets users take and immediately preview shots destined for social media.

The FullVision display in the LG G6 provides users with a new viewing experience. LG says this 1:1 picture ratio is ideal for uploading images to social media outlets like Instagram.

A few hours ago LG Mobile spilled another teaser for the G6. This will allow you to have two apps running side-by-side without negatively affecting the way they are displayed. LG states that the 18:9 aspect ratio will "almost entirely fill the front of the smartphone" which also adds confirmation to the big screen but small footprint of the actual device size, something which could only be achieved by eliminating the bezels as much as they possibly could.

The G6 is already making waves with the unusual 18:9 aspect ratio of its screen, and one of the reasons LG has gone for that shape is now clear. "Inside the calendar app, turning the G6 horizontally will display the calendar in the left window while a detailed schedule will appear on the right", the company said. This particular feature has been available in apps such as Instagram. LG believes this kind of experience will allow for better multitasking on the G6. Users will be able to view new games, apps, and movies optimized for 18:9 ratio.

LG's press release talks about the firm's UX 6.0 at length and dives into the features of the G6's 5.7-inch QHD+ (2880 x 1440p) FullVision screen. LG has also announced a new, saturated Food Mode for those who like to take photographs of their meals.

LG feels that this design will have a domino effect with premium smartphone makers resorting to a similar screen ratio on their new designs. There's a GIF tool which can combine anywhere from 2 to 100 images as well.

The G6 will offer improved multi-tasking features, too.
