Iranian President Hassan Rouhani said that Iran welcomes deepening ties with the European Union members in all spheres.

Tehran-Kuwait City are not exclusively economy-oriented; rather they have numerous capacities for cooperation in the fields of culture, science and modern technologies, the president said.

"Historically, Iranians and Omani leaders have been guardians of the Strait of Hormuz as a secure bottleneck for global trade; now the Strait is strategic energy route where Iran and Oman best handle the region; Iran's military merely provides defensive prospects for the neighbors, since we support diplomatic methods and negotiation to settle the differences with neighbors", Rouhani added.

The Emir of Kuwait also said: "Kuwait is ready to develop and deepen ties with Iran in various fields".

Iran has come to the help of regional countries whenever they were entangled in challenges, including terrorism, and will continue to render assistance to them if they demand it, the Iranian president added.
