Experts' opinions on what causes child abuse varies

Since Jerry Sandusky's 2012 conviction on 45 counts of child sex abuse charges, he has been in pursuit of a new trial, attempting to discard the testimonies of witnesses.

Jeffrey Sandusky, the 41-year-old son of former Penn State coach Jerry Sandusky, has been accused of requesting nude photos and oral sex from two teenage sisters.

He was arraigned Monday on one count of solicitation (statutory sexual assault), one count of solicitation (involuntary deviate sexual intercourse), 2 counts of solicitation (photographing, videotaping, depicting on computer of filming sexual acts); 6 counts of unlawful contact with minor; 2 counts of solicitation (sexual abuse of children); and 2 counts of corruption of minors. He was jailed on $200,000 bail. Jeffrey has been a corrections officer at Rockview State Prison near State College since August of 2015 but has been suspended from that position without pay at this time.

The center has worked alongside other organizations in the last five years to bring awareness, education and prevention to the issue of child sex abuse in Centre County. According to the documents, the girl, known as victim No.1, knew Sandusky personally. Sandusky allegedly sent the victim text messages, asking for naked photographs. "I don't think it comes from victimization and studies will show you that is not the case".

Pennsylvania State Police report that Sandusky was dating the mother of the alleged first child victim.

That teen told investigators that Jeffrey Sandusky told her in March: "I can't even say anything except I'm sorry". An investigation began after the father of a girl reported to police that he had sent her inappropriate messages. You know who does that?

The scandal led to the firing of legendary head coach Joe Paterno and University President Graham Spanier, as well as charges for other administrators. During five of those years, he lived with them.

Sandusky allegedly propositioned the second reported victim, a 16-year-old girl, for oral sex.

Also, the Crime Victim Center will have Jerry Sandusky's adopted son, Matthew, who was also a victim of sexual abuse, at the Blasco Library on February 27 to talk about his experience.
