Cowboys quarterback Tony Romo, Candace expecting third child

Tony Romo

If Romo is released by the Cowboys, Werder is clearly laying the groundwork for what would be the story of the off season.

Certainly, if Romo is released there will be a market for his services. If there were to trade Romo, they would not be liable for any of his $24.7 million cap number next season.

Romo, a 13-year veteran with the Cowboys, has completed 65.3% (2,829-4,335) of his passes for 34,183 yards, 248 touchdowns and 117 interceptions over his career.

The Dallas Cowboys quarterback, 36, and Crawford Romo (sister of Gossip Girl alum Chace Crawford) tied the knot at Arlington Hall at Lee Park in Dallas in May 2011.

Also, the Cowboys aren't likely to gain much - probably no more than a conditional mid-round pick - in a trade for Romo because the Cowboys lack leverage. For a team looking to win now, Denver and Romo could be a flawless fit. "If Romo plays primary for incentives then it doesn't get the whole thing out of whack so it doesn't balance". Maybe they still like Alex Smith.

As you can see, a lot of what I like stems from his stats and that's because he's simply been a good quarterback for a while. "He's really more creative, I think". However, the major question that everyone's been asking is whether America's Team would be able to find a trade partner for the quarterback or if they would be forced to release him.

KXAS reports releasing Romo would come at a high cost-- $10 million against the 2017 salary cap.

Rookie Dak Prescott emerged on the scene and was unceremoniously handed the starting role once Romo went down with an injury in the preseason. The Texans make sense, but they swung and missed on Brock Osweiler and are stuck with the entirety of his $19 million cap hit this season. He's playing to win a Super Bowl.

The smart money is on Denver and has been since last September.
