Dallas Cowboys must do this to beat the Packers

Dez caught

Not if you're Dallas. The Packers are in the playoffs for the eighth consecutive season - tied with New England for the longest active streak in the NFL.

Rodgers has a QB Rating of 148.3 when throwing a Hail Mary pass (not true, I have no idea what it really is, but it's got to be really good).

It's the time of year when we talk about how cold it is in Green Bay.

"Yes", he said. "I do".

Rodgers threw one of his trademark Hail Mary passes, connecting with Randall Cobb for a 42-yard score to complete a 14-point swing in the last four minutes of the first half in Sunday's wild-card game against the New York Giants.

The score is just the latest in Rodgers' list of last-ditch heroics. The more they do it, the more their confidence grows.

Some might think Green Bay's luck will finally run out when they face an elite opponent on the road, particularly with top wide receiver Jordy Nelson suffering a rib injury against the New York Giants, and several other players dealing with physical problems.

After Bobby Rainey fielded a kickoff and stepped out at the 3-yard line, the Packers' defense stiffed and almost came up with a third down interception. Yes, that's right. Minus-8. The play of Irving could be key to doing just that. The Giants lost to the Packers in the regular season - 23-16 at Lambeau in Week 5 - and will try to turn the tables in Green Bay in a playoff rematch on Sunday. But a combination of an opportunistic defense and a little magic from quarterback Aaron Rodgers had the Packers rolling into the second half. Randall Cobb took up position in the back, with Landon Collins, Eli Apple, Trevin Wade and Keenan Robinson all parked in front of him.

After failing to convert on a third-and-1, the Giants were forced to punt and gave Aaron Rodgers one last opportunity. Tight end Richard Rodgers didn't have one catch against the Giants, but the 24-year-old scored eight touchdowns in 2015.

Average TV viewership for the four National Football League wild-card telecasts was down about 7 percent from a year ago - in line with lower ratings during the regular season, but also perhaps a result of four routs this time.

"It's fun", Rodgers said.

Perhaps getting overly aggressive, the Packers attempted to go for it on a fourth-and-1 from their own 42-yard line. NY receiver Tavarres King beat the Packers secondary for a 41-yard touchdown catch, but Green Bay responded with a 30-yard touchdown catch by Randall Cobb to put them up by eight points, 21-13. It's about Super Bowl titles, and the Packers haven't won one in six years.

Two plays after the Giants defense forced a turnover on downs, Eli Manning connected with wide receiver Tavarres King on a 41-yard touchdown. Green Bay has been strong on third down and in the red zone, ranking second and 10th in those categories, respectively.

The Packers, once in negative numbers for yardage, would finish with 406. And Rogers has thrown for four touchdowns in each of his last three outings. He is now on one of the best streaks in his career, as the playoff win marks his third game in a row throwing for four touchdowns and zero interceptions.

"Adversity is inevitable in this game".

It's a matchup between the NFC's best team and the conference's hottest team.

"You go through the video and you don't see a lot of production", Packers coach Mike McCarthy said.
