Crystal Palace still in talks with Leicester over Jeffrey Schlupp

Championship club Aston Villa have been linked with an interest in Leicester City wide man Jeffrey Schlupp.

Leicester City are set to sell winger Jeff Schlupp to Crystal Palace in a deal worth £12million.

West Brom reportedly had a £12 million bid for the 24-year-old turned down in the summer but it is reported that The Baggies are likely to return with a new bid of around the same value, with Villa and Palace expected to match that offer.

He helped the Foxes win a surprise Premier League title last term, making 26 appearances, but was left out of Ghana's African Nations Cup squad this month because of his lack of action this year.

Ranieri says the situation is normal and without animosity, and described the player as "fantastic" despite handing the 24-year-old Ghana global just one Premier League start this season. Of course, he is not happy. After this the money for the club is important.

"I spoke with him and he spoke with the club". He can go for the right money. I understand but I have three good left-sided players, Ben Chilwell, Christian Fuchs and him.

Leicester's league clash against leaders Chelsea on Saturday will see N'Golo Kante return to the King Power Stadium for the first time in the league since he left the club in the close season.

"I would like to keep an experienced player and one young player".
